Holding tight to the chair arms, we start “Space Jump”, an innovative technology to travel between planets in the Universe.
Loosening my seatbelt, I walk towards the big window pane, enjoying the view of the infinite universe: shining stars twinkling on the enormous black fabric.
Gordon, one of my colleagues, comes near and informs me that we will be landing on Ritz, a nearby planet,
for new supplies of food and Spacergy, a new kind of energy discovered on Jupiter a decade ago.
Departing from Ritz, it will be a short 5-hour journey to the black hole named C-929.
It is my first time on duty to expel prisoners in my 3-year experience in the Space Police.
We were founded to ensure safety and peace in the Universe, in which human beings live on various planets.
Walking into the attached pod, criminals are held in individual cells with large windows that are unbreakable.
They look rough and emotionless, despite one of them heavily banging on the cell doors.
I ignore the irritable criminal and return to the shuttle: it is time for their expulsion towards C-929.
Pressing the confirm button, the pod automatically fires towards C-929.
We watch the whole process until the pod enters the Event Horizon, where it appears to be stationary,
but this is an effect of space-time bending or perception of reality.
Mission accomplished, we can look forward to an easy return to Earth. |
